This course is designed to impart rules and practices for the safe operation of Bobcat skid-steer loaders, all-wheel steer loaders and compact track loaders. Using video presentations, classroom exercises and "hands-on" operation, the course is designed to expose trainees to safe and efficient operation, which will ultimately lead to greater productivity. Highlights of the course include:

  1. How weight distribution affects skid-steer loader steering and stability.
  2. The difference between Tipping Load and Rated Operating Capacity.
  3. An understanding of the hydrostatic transmission, and that the loader will react the moment the steering levers are moved.
  4. Why maintenance is an important factor for safe, efficient, and productive operation.
  5. Identify the controls and their functions.
  6. Identify the loader's safety features and explain their importance.
  7. The steps of safe entry and exit.
  8. The reason for changing attachments and the use of the Bob-Tach system.
  9. Know the fundamentals of safe maneuvering, traveling, and working with the attachment.
