The purpose of this course is to impart rules and practices for the safe operation of the Bobcat® planer attachment—NOT to qualify trainees as skilled or trained planer operators. After participating in this course, you will have learned:

  1. The importance of reading and following all instructions and workplace rules.
  2. The importance of properly attaching and removing the planer from the loader.
  3. The planer's components and safety features.
  4. The importance of daily planer inspections and periodic maintenance.
  5. How to assess a job site before milling.
  6. How to get on and off the loader and planer safely.
  7. The fundamentals of safely maneuvering and operating a planer.
  8. The proper methods for transporting a loader.
  9. Various types of milling applications an operator might encounter.
